5th Grade Choir In 5th grade, each student will take General Music for one quarter. During that quarter, they will have a choice of going with me for a "choir experience" or going with Mr. Thatcher for a more "general music" experience. My class will focus on developing a student's singing skills, reading notes and rhythms, following their line in a vocal piece of music, and performance expectations. Students will have the choice to participate in whatever vocal concert is scheduled during that quarter and will become part of the 6th grade choir for that performance. | 6th Grade Choir In 6th grade, students will have the opportunity to sign up for choir at the beginning of the year. There is a $10 uniform fee to participate. At RMS, it is possible to do both band and choir. Choir is every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday during 8th period. Students will be assigned either Tuesday or Thursday, and Friday will be full choir each week. Students receive a grade for their participation in choir. 6th Grade will perform on the following concerts: Fall Concert (Oct.) Holiday "Tis the Season" Concert (Dec.) March Concert May Concert | 7/8th Choir Starlet Rams is the 7th/8th grade vocal performing group of RMS! It is a graded class that meets each day during 3rd period. Starlet Rams will sing SAB 3-part/SATB 4-part music and continue to develop and refine their singing and music reading skills. Scheduling makes it possible for music students to do both band and choir. There is a small uniform fee for Starlet Rams but a fundraiser will be offered to help. Starlet Rams are required to attend performances and will perform for the following concerts: Fall Concert (Oct.) Holiday "Tis the Season" Concert (Dec.)
