RLSD Leads Butler County in Academic Achievement on Ohio Report Card
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has officially released the 2025–2026 Ohio School Report Cards, solidifying Ross Local School District’s position as an elite academic leader in the region. Ross Local achieved an exceptional overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars, with 3.969 accumulated points in all areas. That point total represents the highest performing district in Butler County. Most notably, the district captured the highest Performance Index score in the entire county at 89.7%, a metric that reflects the depth of student achievement on state assessments.
The state’s 4.5-star designation indicates that Ross Local consistently exceeds state standards. The district's balanced approach to education is reflected across the report card's five core components:
Gap Closing & Graduation Rate (5 Stars): Ross earned perfect marks for its success in eliminating educational vulnerabilities and ensuring students cross the graduation finish line.
Achievement, Progress, & Early Literacy (4 Stars): The district demonstrated superior student test scores, significant academic growth year-over-year, and a strong foundation in early reading proficiency.
Post-Graduation Readiness (4 Stars): Ross successfully met state benchmarks for preparing students for college, careers, the workforce, and military service. This is actually 1 student away from being a 5 star, as there are no half stars for this component.
Setting the Standard in Butler County
While local districts saw mixed results on this year's state review, Ross Local stands out at the apex of county performance. Ross is one of only three districts in Butler County—alongside Lakota Local and Talawanda—to secure a 4.5-star overall rating. However, Ross claimed sole ownership of the county's highest academic performance index, out-pacing its peers in raw academic achievement.

"Leading the county in academic performance while maintaining top-tier ratings in student growth and graduation is a milestone we are incredibly proud of. We will use this momentum to continue pushing the envelope of educational excellence."
Morgan Elementary was the highest performing overall for all schools in Butler County. RIS was second overall for all schools in Butler County. Both earning 5 stars.
Ross Middle School was 6th overall for all schools in Butler County.
Elda Elementary was 15th overall for all schools in Butler County.
Ross High School was 17th overall for all schools in Butler County.
These are out of 82 school buildings in Butler County.
